"...and with your free hand?" phrase: comment, usually from the GM, indicating that the player is trying to have his character accomplish too many things at once. [BC]


Addendum: Note that players often insist their characters are sharp-witted and nimble enough to compose sonnets while tumbling downstairs and readying a spell. [BC]
GM: "Okay, you're halfway up the cliff when you hear a sound below. It's too dark to be sure, but it sounds like several orcs approaching your position."
Player: "Great. Hanging onto the rope, I mutter a prayer to my god, shift my shield onto my back, put the torch in my teeth, let a couple vials of oil drop, and grab my crossbow in case they attack."
GM: " And with your free hand?"
