collectible card game, C.C.G., CCG, n a genre of hobbyist game featuring sets of usu. colorful and richly illustrated cards; cards are purchased in packs, and gamers collect and trade cards with different properties; for play, players build decks from cards in their collection; examples both current and former include Wizards of the Coast's Magic: The Gathering, Legend of the Five Rings, Pokémon, Steve Jackson Games' Illuminati: New World Order, and Decipher's Star Trek Customizable Card Game.
